Another great month for scuba diving in Sodwana Bay!  Easter was crazy busy and luckily Sodwana Bay produced absolutely fabulous diving conditions with warm water, little wind and excellent viz. 

As you can see from the gallery there are some interesting feather star photos taken on a dive to 54 metres by Peter Timm.  Other sightings included a Flying Gurnard found on one of our new reefs.  Its great to be getting so many Potato Bass and Marbled Leopard Grouper sightings.

For some reason we have had manta ray sightings on nearly every day and these mantas have been enormous!!  Lets hope that they stick around!

Wow!  I know that I always say this but what a month!!!

We had pretty green water for a week or so due to a cyclone off of Madagascar but when it passed and the blue water returned..... 

We are very excited that we have schools of Batfish in Sodwana Bay, they seem to be juvenile Orbicular Batfish and we have spotted them on bikini, main two mile, five mile and seven mile reef.  We have no idea where they have suddenly appeared from but we are delighted to have them here - whoo hoo!!

Beautifull non crowded beaches, warm, warm water and amazing diving.  Scuba diving in Sodwana Bay in February was just divine.

We have been visiting further reefs and discovering new dive sites to take you to.  Diving with us all the way from France were top photographers Denis Jeant and Bruno Guenard who kindly sent me a beautifull dolphin photo included in this months gallery for you.  Denis will be including images from Sodwana Bay in his next book. 

Other sightings have included mantas galore, happily plenty potato bass and an abundance of turtles.... Enjoy!

27 degree water and endless viz day after day.  Sodwana Bay showed us the best of everything In December.  Scuba diving in Sodwana just gets better and better.  There seem to be more sharks around latley, the photo of a very inquisitive huge Tiger Shark was taken on a deep dive at Roonies on Two Mile Reef. 

We have been exploring and diving some new sites where we found a juvenile bright yellow Frogfish.  It always gets quiet in Sodwana after the New Year when the conditions are absolutely stunning.  So what are you waiting for......

With the water now at 25 degrees and the viz sticking at around 30 metres, scuba diving at Sodwana Bay with Triton is really a pleasure. 

In November we ran an advanced nitrox course and took the students to explore Sodwana's reefs that lie at 50 metres.  Breathtaking, amazing and mind blowing were all key words after the dives and as you can see from this months gallery the description is completely true.  We dived to the Coral Tree at Diepgat and to Grants Beach just off of two mile reef and managed to get some pretty good photos......

Wow, what amazing dives we have had this month in Sodwana Bay.  As you can see from the gallery we were really spoilt and had some amazing sightings.  There is a very friendly dolphin family that have consistently been interacting when our clients are snorkeling with them and Danielle managed to get some great shots.  Time and time again they come back to the excited swimers and just want to play with them. 

We took a trip to 9 mile reef and dived at the Coral Tree, During the dive we saw a school of 10 mantas, followed by another sighting on the second dive at nearby Breaking Waters add to this a whaleshark, humpback whales and a calf and stunning viz all in one days scuba diving and you will know how lucky we were that day!

We spotted a rare Marbled Star Shrimp which are normally found further North in Madagascar and Mozambique, check out the photo.  The cover shot is of a gorgeous Blackspotted Puffer Fish photographed on 9 mile reef.

September although "the windy month" has still been awesome for scuba diving.  Sodwana Bay has given us plenty of opportunities to swim with Whale Sharks and the migrating Humpback Whales have been putting on quite a show for us, playfully breaching by Jesser Point for the divers who came down for an amazing long weekend.  The water has not really dropped below 22 degrees and is now slowly warming up as the days get warmer and longer.  Evenings see us still in our shorts swopping tales by the braai.  Sodwana Bay consistently offers us the best acuba diving so what are you waiting for?  Take a peek at this months gallery and see what you are missing.

Scuba divng in Sodwana Bay with Triton Dive Lodge has never been better.  Sure the water temp has dropped to a chilly 22 degrees but the colder water has brought with it schools of devil rays jumping, Mantas on Bikini and all over two mile reef.  Dolphins on Seven Mile Reef and even whale shark sightings every weekend.  We also have the added bonus of the Humpbacks cruising slowloy past the bay with their calfs.  The days are warm and the evenings mild.  What better way to escape the cold than come to Sodwana Bay and get a dive or two in with Triton.

This last month we have had some really excellent dives.  With warm sunny days and mild evenings, people have been visiting Sodwana Bay to escape the cold of Cape Town and Johannesburg and who can blame them!  We were able to snorkel with Manta Rays several times as they have been feeding close to Quarter Mile Reef.  The vapour puffs on the horizon indicate the first Humpbacks are again migrating past the Bay.
